"Ghana's economy has a lot of similarities with Trinidad and Tobago, and having had the privilege of operating in our oil economy successfully, we believe there are several areas where we can bring lessons we have learned to bear on the Ghanaian economy," he said. Mr. Thompson made these remarks when the delegation paid a visit to the Minister of Energy Dr. Oteng-Agyei. The high powered delegation was led by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Mr. Hilton John Mitchell. It also included Gregory Thompson and Mr. Robert Le-Hunte, Managing Director of Barbados National Bank. The delegation expects to interact with major players within the financial sector, including the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, as well as regulators, managing directors of banks, and the business community. The Republic Bank of Trinidad and Tobago is one of the largest and most successful indigenous banks in the English-speaking Caribbean, with a current asset base of approximately US$7 billion and employs over 4,500 people in the Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Guyana and Barbados. "Given that the total asset base of the Ghanaian banking sector is about US$10 billion, we have a strong enough base to participate meaningfully in Ghana's economy," said Robert Le-Hunte. The Republic Bank has proven expertise in financing Trinidad and Tobago's efficient production, processing and monetization of gas, with the country being the largest producer of methanol and ammonia in the world. Helinet Technologies Expands Aerial Surveillance Services Engagement with Special Anti-Crime Unit of Trinidad and Tobago (SAUTT)

 

Partnership to Implement HD Surveillance Capability for SAUTT Builds Upon Firm's Work Deploying Nationwide Aerial Surveillance Solution for Agency

LOS ANGELES, March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Helinet Technologies, the aerial surveillance solutions division of Helinet Aviation, announced today it has been selected by the Special Anti-Crime Unit of Trinidad and Tobago (SAUTT) to assist the agency in implementing a fulltime, high definition aerial surveillance capability.  The assignment represents a continuation of Helinet's work with SAUTT providing HD image gathering and live broadcast capabilities and will encompass infrastructure design and build-out, technology integration and training.

The new assignment follows Helinet's engagement with SAUTT to provide the entire aerial surveillance capability for two, large-scale international gatherings hosted by Trinidad and Tobago in 2009: The 34-nation Summit of the Americas and the 53-nation Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.  Beginning with the design of a nationwide network of broadcast receive sites, the firm worked with SAUTT to develop a comprehensive security system that delivered a continuous live feed from above the events to commanders on the ground.  The assignments also included assisting with staffing of air crews, securing all necessary physical assets and delivering the live feed to SAUTT's command center where it could be immediately shared with the security services of attending nations.

Ah mean to say ah know is only five years ah did spend at CIC an is not like ah did go to UWI like you, but ah sell enough chive, cabbage, an tomato in de market to know how to count from one to ten, an de numbers in dis maths problem giving me problems for so, dey jus not adding up boy. So you who is engineer help meh out neh. Let meh write out de problem for yuh fus, here goes.

If a woman, say she is a prophetess an go an open up a church how long yuh tink it go take for she to build she catidral? One year, five. Wat yuh mean yuh doh know? Boy de answer to dat one is ten years. An dat is de easy part of de problem, de real hard part is how much yuh tink it go cost we. Now ah hear some real bright people say thirty million, but boy Patrick ah catching meh ass to get dat answer, all how ah try de numbers dey not adding up neh man. Ah know dem penticostal an dem does give tides, yuh doh fin dat sound like soap? Dat go be a good retirement wuk  for yuh boy, an plenty people go want to come to your church too yuh know, an yuh could always use de prophetess church while yuh building yours.

 Anyway back to de maths, is how much people in dis church for she to save thirty million in ten years. She had to be saving three million a year jus for dat, an dat is after she pay sheself and run de church business to, so de congregation alone does earn about forty million dollars a year between deyself. Weefhoot yuh mean to tell meh all de people in dat church have money like jep nest, as dey touch it it does raise, because for she to collect dat kind of money is either de congregation real big or de congregation pocket real fat, an as yuh did done tell meh is a school she does use to hold she Sunday service in, ah was tinking is just one or two hundred people dat does be dey, but now ah see is people like in one of dem large carnival band dat does show up every sunday. Leh meh ask yuh something neh she does pay rent to use de school neh man, ah mean if every Sunday is six or seven hundred people cramming in dey for service yuh doh tink she should pay rent to de ministry of education for dat boy, Yuh know jus in case dem people an dem break someting. Is not she money dat build dat school yuh know is we taxpayer’s money dat do dat.

 Wat is dat? yuh want meh to shut up an leave yuh alone. Yuh doh want de people an dem to wuk out de maths on dis one. Yuh praying for God to make people forget about all dat because is his wuk yuh been doing. Yuh see Patrick dat is why de people love yuh so boy. Yuh is a man of god who make it his life wuk to serve de needs of de people.
